Description
A hemispherical head (also called hemispherical tank heads or hemispherical dish end) is widely applied to make pressure tanks to store liquids.

PETROL STEEL CO., LTD is a leading supplier specialised in steelhead plates in China.
Our main products are dish heads, hemispherical heads, spherical heads, elliptical heads, conical heads, flat heads, ellipsoidal dishes, flat-bottomed heads, heads with manholes, expansion joints, flanged heads, torispherical heads, tank heads, pipe end caps, stainless steel dished end head caps, large-diameter elliptical heads, pipe caps with threads, etc. with different kinds of material, which are widely used in boilers and pressure vessels in diverse industries in the world. The wall thickness of hemispherical heads is according to ASME Code Section VIII Division 1.

Size range: 50 mm-10,000 mm with integral form; larger sizes with subsection form can be specified.
Thickness: 2mm-200mm
Standard: ANSI, ASME, MSS, API, DIN, JIS, BS, AWWA

Materials: stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, special steel, etc.
Application of the Ellipsoidal Head: in diverse industries such as oil, chemical, winery, pharmaceutical, environmental, and military.

The head plate is a part of the vessel or tank. It is a cylinder connected by welding. According to different geometric shapes, the head plates can be divided into hemispherical head, spherical head, elliptical head, conical head, flat head, ellipsoidal dish, flat-bottomed head, etc.

The welding process includes butt-welded head plates and socket-welded head plates. It is used in various pressure vessel equipment, such as storage tanks, heat exchangers, towers, reactors, boilers, and separation equipment.

According to the welding process, it includes butt-welded head plates and socket-welded head plates. It is used in various pressure vessel equipment, such as storage tanks, heat exchangers, towers, reactors, boilers, and separation equipment.

The material of the head plates includes carbon steel (A3, 20#, Q235, Q345B, 16Mn, etc.).
Stainless steel (304, 321, 304L, 316, 316L, etc.),
Alloy steel (15Mo3 15CrMoV 35CrMoV 45CrMo),
Aluminum, titanium, copper, nickel, and nickel alloys, etc.

What is the difference between the head plates and the piping caps? The summary of the difference between the piping caps and the head plates is as follows:
The head plates and the piping caps look very similar, and the difference between them is mainly in the size of the inner diameter and the scope of use. Normally, the pipe cap is just the plug of the pipe, and the inner diameter of the pipe cap is ≤ DN300. Whereas the head plates' inner diameter is > DN300.
In theory, the diameter of the head plates used for butt welding can be infinite. Under normal circumstances, its maximum diameter can be about DN10,000.

The calculation method for the workpiece size of the head plates is as follows:
The head plates' diameter is ≤ 1200: Di × 1.2 + 80.
Head diameter > 1800: Di × 1.17 + 80
The Weight calculation
(cutting size ÷ 2) × (cutting size ÷ 2) × coefficient (carbon steel 7.85, stainless steel 304, 7.93, special 7.98) × 3.14 × thickness

The weight of the spherical head plates without straight edge = 7.85δnΠ (Di + δn)² / 2
Where δn is the thickness of the steel plate.
Π-Pi.
Nominal diameter of DI spherical head plate.
If it has a straight-sided spherical head plate, plus the straight-sided weight, the types of head plates for pressure vessels and their applicability.
